Annual General Meeting Schilthorn Cableway Ltd.

On Friday, 16th June 2023, the 61st Annual General Meeting of Schilthorn Cableway Ltd. took place in Mürren, in the presence of 220 shareholders. The company looks back on a successful business year. The current focus is on the construction work on the SCHILTHORNBAHN 20XX project. Daniel Kuster-von Allmen was newly elected to the Board of Directors.

The 61st Annual General Meeting of Schilthornbahn AG was held at the Alpine Sports Centre Mürren on Friday, 16th June 2023. 472 shareholders (of which 220 were present) with 24`463 shareholder votes attended this meeting. This corresponds to 63.54 percent of the share capital.

Fiscal year 2022 – defined by an upswing

As the Schilthornbahn already reported in an earlier announcement, the 2022 business year was highlighted by a renewed upswing post pandemic. Both the business figures, the company's project and event activities show a pleasing picture. Visitor numbers were almost 60 per cent above the previous year and just five per cent below the five-year average. Total income rose even more strongly by 75.6 per cent, which indicates significantly higher per capita income. All business sections experienced this positive development. At the same time, the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the SCHILTHORNBAHN 20XX project took place in the run-up to the last Annual General Meeting. Important preparatory work has been completed.

Agenda of the 61st Annual General Meeting

The 2022 annual report, financial statement and balance sheet were approved and the shareholders expressed their confidence in the Board of Directors and the management.

Elections: Board member Ralph von Allmen resigns from the Board of Directors. The former owner of the Hotel Blumental in Mürren was elected to the Board of Directors in 2005. After 18 years, he is handing over the office to another hotelier: Daniel Kuster-von Allmen, owner and managing director of the Hotel Edelweiss in Mürren since 1991, he has been elected for a term of three years. The father of three children is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of the EWL Genossenschaft Lauterbrunnen and the Mürren Water Supply.

The previous members of the Board of Directors were re-elected for a term of three years. KPMG AG from Bern was also elected as auditors for another year.

2023 Fiscal Year - Seamless continuation of a successful previous year

Last winter it was already apparent that the positive development of 2022 would continue in the current business year. Thanks to snow farming, the winter season started on 5 November 2022. The winter season had 159 operating days, (two thirds more than the long-term average) which is the longest winter season to date. This has been achieved with two thirds less snow! The income from excursion traffic is already 31 percent above the previous year and 36 percent above 2019. At the same time, the construction work for the SCHILTHORNBAHN 20XX is moving forwards at a great pace. The actual starting signal was given in March with the demolition of the Käthi transport cableway. In the meantime, all stations are under construction, which presents the tourism company with a major logistical challenge since daily operations should continue largely undisturbed.
